Will You Help Me Pick the Title for My New Book?
Dear Reader:
Hello again. I’m here with the second edition of my newsletter and, thanks to folks like you, I’ve completed the manuscript of my new Erica Banks thriller. It’s on the way to my wonderful editor as soon as I finish this note. Which means it should be available to my readers in about six months.
I mentioned “folks like you” above because, in the last issue of the newsletter, I asked for some help in obtaining information on the technology of TV satellite broadcasts. The response was perfect, with several spot-on ideas. Thanks to all those who contributed.
One of whom, as I promised, now appears as a character in the book! No names, she wanted to remain secret. But I can only imagine how excited she and her friends will be when the book comes out and she shares her secret with her pals.
You might notice I haven’t named the new book yet. That’s because I have a bit of a puzzle to work out. I have two titles in mind and I’m hoping readers like you will help me pick the right one.
The book revolves around fixing the World Series through Artificial Intelligence. Which leads to the first possible title, Ball Four, You’re Out. Which I kind of like.
But the Series scam is part of a much wider conspiracy, one in which our gal Erica is deeply involved. Killing people right and left. In fact, the book opens with one of her victims getting whacked by her in a bayou south of New Orleans.
Which leads to the second possible title, Two Bullets In A Bayou. It leans a bit more toward Erica and her exploits, which is also likeable.
Your thoughts? If you are willing to share them with me, simply drop me a note at billblackauthor@outlook.com. As a reward, I’ll enter your name in a raffle and award the winner a note of thanks in the acknowledgments page in the book. Whatever the title.
I must tell you that I think, modestly, that this is the best book yet about my star, Erica Banks. She is quite something, to be sure.
Thanks for your help,
Best, always,
Bill Black
